The most blessed trading in our life: For all human and especially for bankers

The best trading that we should understand as banker is our trading with our God, Allah SWT. It comes first before whatever trading and service that banker give to the customer. Its like the unlimited profit that you are not able to expect now, but your iman make u can ‘read’ that its so unexpected and full of blessing.

Our obligation is to give the best service to our first customer, God. If we keep doing in this mindset, keep doing good deeds and service, for instance dzikr (remembrance Him in all our single activity in business) , ‘reading’ Qur’an and applying the message to single activity in our service,  etc, then our service to human  will continue to be perfect and beneficial to our environment

Let’s ponder upon this Surah:

Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah , so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah ? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment. (Attaubah 111)

 The relationship between service God first and iman is a reinforcing feedback loop. The more we service Allah,  the more creative and perfect  is our job, then the  stronger is our iman.

Then, it will make us as a believer, full believer, that believe any change because of Allah is a must to do. We will shift  our ‘ standard  mind-set’ about Islamic bank . From becoming sharia compliance bank and doing best CSR, and doing negative screening, to beyond islamic banking (impactful bank, doing positive screening instead negative screening, achieving the maqashid syaraiah as part of our business model).
